The Hawks are intensifying their search for Amos Tineyi Kampinya, a 44-year-old Zimbabwean, who is wanted in connection with a significant theft case involving Mugg & Bean in the Kruger National Park. Kampinya, a former manager of the franchise, is accused of embezzling nearly R1 million in July 2022. Despite a high-profile manhunt and numerous appeals for information, Kampinya remains elusive.

The case has also seen developments in the courtroom. Ronald Mankena Khoza, 45, a co-accused in the case, appeared before the court on Wednesday. Khoza faces allegations of embezzling R253,208 through fraudulent cash payouts. He was granted bail of R20,000, but the search for Kampinya continues.

The Hawks are actively seeking public assistance in locating Kampinya. Captain Mandia Mphephethe is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information about Kampinya’s whereabouts to come forward. Those with tips can contact Captain Mphephethe directly at 071 481 3295.

The case highlights the ongoing efforts to address and resolve financial crimes within South Africa’s vibrant tourism sector, and the Hawks’ commitment to bringing alleged perpetrators to justice. The public’s cooperation is essential in resolving this high-profile theft and ensuring accountability.
