President Mnangagwa rewards former Zanu-PF legislator Dexter Nduna

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has assigned former Zanu-PF legislator Dexter Nduna to lead efforts in mobilizing resources for the ruling party, focusing on key sectors such as mining, agriculture, and various business enterprises. Zanu-PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa informed NewsDay of this decision, revealing Nduna’s appointment as chairperson of the resource mobilisation and revenue generation committee following a recent central committee meeting.

Nduna expressed his satisfaction with the appointment, highlighting President Mnangagwa’s emphasis on achieving rapid results. He outlined plans for his team to conduct extensive tours across provinces aimed at formulating effective strategies to enhance financial support for the party. Nduna specifically mentioned the targeting of crucial sectors like mining and agriculture, emphasizing the strategic importance of these industries in bolstering party funding.

Nduna’s history with Zanu-PF includes a significant gesture of donating 60 heifers and five bulls to President Mnangagwa last year, underscoring his strong support and admiration for Mnangagwa’s leadership. He also commended Mnangagwa’s initiatives in Chegutu, particularly noting improvements in living conditions for mine workers through the introduction of affordable housing schemes.

Overall, Nduna’s appointment signifies a strategic maneuver by Zanu-PF to leverage his expertise and network in resource mobilisation, aiming to strengthen the party’s financial foundation through targeted efforts in critical economic sectors.
