Man stabbed to death during fight over a woman

Police in Modjadjiskloof, near Tzaneen in Limpopo, are currently on the lookout for a man accused of fatally stabbing a 31-year-old man in an incident apparently linked to a love triangle. According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, spokesperson for the Limpopo police, the tragic event unfolded on Saturday afternoon at Lehlareng, Ga-Sekgopo village. Law enforcement responded to a distress call from a local hospital reporting a man admitted with stab wounds to his upper body. Despite prompt police arrival, the victim succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Initial reports suggest that the deceased encountered the suspect, who is also romantically involved with his girlfriend, while they were all on the street. This encounter quickly escalated into a heated altercation over the woman. Allegedly, the suspect drew a knife and fatally stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene, leaving him fatally injured.

Colonel Ledwaba confirmed that the police have launched a murder investigation and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect. “We urge anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to contact Sergeant Hlamolo Chauke on 079 039 2878, Crime Stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or utilize the My SAPS App.”

In another tragic incident reported by IOL on Friday, police in Mankweng, under the Capricorn District of Limpopo, arrested a 20-year-old woman in connection with a murder and attempted murder case also believed to be linked to a love triangle.

The arrest follows events at Moremadi Park where police responded to a disturbance call at a residential area. Upon arrival, they discovered a three-year-old child with severe upper body injuries, who tragically succumbed to these wounds despite emergency medical efforts.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect, during a confrontation with a 24-year-old mother, allegedly struck the child with a spade, resulting in the child’s death. The suspect further assaulted the mother by pouring boiling water over her, causing severe burn injuries. The injured mother was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Both cases underscore the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and the urgent need for intervention to prevent such tragedies.
