Babes Wodumo continues to deeply cherish her late husband Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, who passed away in December 2022. In a recent social media post, the Gqom singer shared a heartfelt voice note that she had sent via WhatsApp to her son’s father, where she could be heard sobbing and expressing her enduring love for him.

Speaking in her native language, IsiZulu, Babes conveyed, “I want you to know one thing, I love you and I will always love you, baby. I know you don’t like it when I cry, I love you though. I know you won’t hear this voice note, but.”

This post came shortly after she commemorated the late Big Nuz member’s birthday. “Grief can make you feel like you’re losing your mind— one day you’re okay, the next you’re battling deep waves of emotions. We understand you, we support you,” wrote a follower in the comments, empathizing with her.

“Let no one rush your healing process or dictate how you should heal. May God surround you with love, Sis,” Refilwe Modiselle added in a supportive message.

Earlier reports had suggested that Babes Wodumo had moved on and was now romantically involved with former Amaroto member Zuma. However, both musicians have chosen to remain silent about these rumors and are focusing on their personal lives.
